These fitted bookcases / shelving units were custom made to fit into the chimney breast alcove of this period home. The modular design means the unit can be reconfigured to make shelves larger or smaller at any time.
We used MDF for the shelves as it’s a strong, cost-effective material and provides an excellent surface for painting or spraying.
As a finishing touch, Victorian-style mouldings were fitted to the bookcase surround to ensure this newly made unit would blend perfectly with the original features of this period London property.
